The starting materials for this project were the printing colours cyan, magenta, gold and black as well as the monitor colours red, green, blue and white. The sound material consists of 110 Hz, 220Hz, 440 Hz, 880 Hz, 1760 Hz, 3520 Hz, 7040 Hz und 14080 Hz computer-generated sine waves. From this clearly defined material, a sound colour composition developed without the use of a mathematical formula; the individual tones are not assigned to any particular colour. Through fades of different lengths of colours and tones, some of which start and end asynchronously, there is an intensification of the colour or the tone. The fade as a transformation of the colour and tone design offers room for »shadings«.
Philipp Stadler, born 1975 in Vienna, lives in Vienna.
