up/1ce up.on a time 2006
Once upon a time, one made a little world for oneself in
the playroom; for example, out of these plastic discs that had indentations
at regular intervals like gears, into which one could push other discs at
angles. This is also the way the HDF discs in Stefan Roigks "1ce up.on
a time" are put together. But here, the game is up. The parts, highly
varied in shape and size, don't allow for arbitrary combinations. [...] From
the loudspeakers in the bottom part unexpectedly comes a repeated sound of
a blow that cuts into the continuity of time. One might want to stop the disturbance,
but the attached switch doesn't work. [Oliver Jelinski]
Stefan Roigk,
